Structuring Your Web Site: How Do I Present My Information?

The structure of your website is much like the chapters of a book.

Every website, at a minimum, should include some basic information such as who you are, what you do, and how to contact you.

Additionally, a website can include

  • Information on various products and services;
  • Various retail locations;
  • Maps pointing the way to your location;
  • Customer testimonials;
  • Links to partners or other local businesses;
  • Photos, video or other related multimedia;
  • Calendar of events.

Each of these sample items should typically get their own page within the website. Having everything on a single page makes for a huge page where information is hard to find.

There's really no limit to the type or amount of content that you can put online. If you organize it in a logical and well thought out manner, you can never have too much content online either.
